Directions to ORS Health & Demographics Section

The official address of the SC Budget and Control Board Office of Research and Statistics, Health and Demographics Section is 1919 Blanding Street, Columbia, SC 29201. However, there is limited parking at this location. Instead of coming to the front door, we ask visitors to come to our parking lot and enter through the attended back door. The address of the parking lot as 1942 Laurel Street, Columbia, SC 29201 There are two entrances to this fenced-in lot, one next to the railroad tracks and one slight farther down. The rear entrance to our office is located right of the center of the building at the top of the steps and ramp, under an awning. There is a sign next to the door with the office name on it.

Disclosure: All Health data are reviewed by the Office of Research and Statistics (ORS) for accuracy and completeness as mandated by law. However, there are certain discrepancies that can go undetected, such as the actual number of discharges. Hospitals are given the opportunity to verify these data prior to being made public by the ORS. If a discrepancy is discovered after the release of these reports, the ORS will make every effort to correct the information presented.
